Who it's for

Subcontractors and trades

HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, roofing, glazing, low voltage, interiors. Reach the GC or architect before the bid list is set.

Suppliers and distributors

Know what's getting built in your territory and who's designing it.

Brokers, lenders, design firms

Track new development and the firms behind it, week by week.

Why it's earlier

1. Site plans and applications

Most permit feeds start when a permit is issued. We start at the site plan or the application, often weeks or months earlier.

2. Filtered, not dumped

We drop single-family homes, fences, signs, certificates of occupancy and small jobs, and merge duplicate permits for one project.

3. Checked by hand

We hand-check random samples and publish the hit rate. The latest check: 27 of 30 (90%) were real commercial or multifamily projects.

FAQ

Where does the data come from? Public open-data portals: City of San Antonio Development Services (applications submitted, permits issued) and in the Triangle: City of Raleigh (development plans, pending and issued building permits), City of Durham (issued building permits), Town of Cary (permit applications) and Wake County (permits for unincorporated areas and smaller towns such as Knightdale, Wendell, Rolesville and Zebulon). Every item lists its source record number.

Is a filing a guaranteed job? No. A filing means a project is moving through the city. It doesn't mean it's funded, awarded or open for bids. Check with the project team.

Do you include homeowner data? No. We cover commercial, institutional and multifamily projects only. The contact shown is the firm or person the city lists on the filing.

Why these two metros? Both publish fresh, detailed records, and we didn't find a weekly commercial brief that covers them. Want another metro? Email us.
