PlanFiled › Raleigh-Durham
Every week we read the Triangle's public permitting records: City of Raleigh development plans (site plans, often months before a building permit), pending and issued building permits; City of Durham issued permits; Town of Cary permit applications; and Wake County permits for unincorporated areas and towns like Knightdale, Wendell, Rolesville and Zebulon. We keep commercial, institutional, industrial and multifamily jobs over $500k plus every early site-plan filing.

How early do Raleigh-Durham projects show up? Raleigh site plans (development plans) are filed before any building permit, often months ahead. Cary and Wake County publish applications; Durham publishes issued permits only.
Which towns are included? Raleigh, Durham, Cary and Wake County's jurisdiction (unincorporated areas plus Knightdale, Wendell, Rolesville, Zebulon and county projects). Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville and Wake Forest run their own portals and aren't included yet.
Is a filing a guaranteed job? No. A filing means a project is moving through the city, not that it's funded, awarded or open for bids. Check with the project team.
